A major goal at Victorian College for the Deaf is to develop in students the skills, knowledge and confidence to become responsible citizens, leaders and decision makers and proudly assume any role available to them when they leave school. Programs are tailored to suit the individual needs of each student including those who have additional disabilities.
In the Senior Years the Victorian Curriculum is used at year 10 to prepare students for their participation in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) or Vocational Education and Training (VET). Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) is also offered for students not able to complete VCAL.
Year 10, 11 and 12 students can choose a VET subject and all students are enrolled in a combination of VET or VCAL. Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is also offered through distance education.
