Speech and Language Pathology
The Speech and Language Pathology program offers support to all students, their parents and teachers at VCD. It is designed to optimise the communication and learning opportunities for all students enrolled, regardless of their chosen method of communication.
Speech and Language Pathology can address individual student needs in the areas of:
- Receptive & Expressive Language - both Auslan and spoken English
- Written language
- Articulation (Speech)
- Voice
- Pragmatics (Social) Skills
- Phonological (Sound) Awareness
For more information regarding these areas, please click here.
To allow appropriate and individualised support, all students participate in assessments of their current skills in the relevant areas of speech and/or language. This ensures that any program developed focuses on the student's specific needs, taking into account their current abilities, how they communicate with family and friends and the potential they have to further develop their communication and learning possibilities.
