Senior Years Camp - Apollo bay

This year senior years students went to Apollo Bay for our end of year camp. We stayed at the Surfside Backpackers and students had to work in groups shopping and cooking their own food. We had a great week of challenging activities that included Surfing, Mountain Bike Riding and Hiking. We were really lucky with the weather and enjoyed some fun beach play as well.

Most of the students were able to stand up on the surfboard riding a wave by the end of the day which was fantastic. The bike ride through the beautiful Otways   proved to be a big challenge for some. There were hills to go up, crashes to pick oneself up from that included some cuts and bruises for some of our students. The end of the ride brought a great sense of pride and achievement.  We cooled off at beautiful Blanket bay afterwards.

The Otway fly was a spectacular walk on platforms that were over 25 meters high. The walk to Mariner’s falls was beautiful and some even braved the cold waters to take a plunge under the waterfall.

We had a fire and toasted marshmallows one night and on the Wednesday morning, 16 of us got up at 4 a.m. to observe the Leonid Meteor shower which had some spectacular shooting stars but overall was not as grand as it was built up to be.

On our last night, students gave a drama performance of all of the events that happened during the week which was great fun. We had a great week and a big thank you to all students and staff that helped make the senior years camp a memorable one.
